Senior Vice President

As Senior Vice President and partner, he draws on over 40 years of experience in residential and commercial architecture and construction. He is a registered architect in the state of Colorado as well as a licensed general contractor, Rick has a unique ability to think through the design and how it transforms into reality.

Daniel S. Shaffer, AIA
Vice President

Daniel graduated from the University of Miami, where he received his Accredited Bachelors of Architecture degree. He is currently a board member of the Gulf Coast Florida AIA Chapter and is newly licensed as a registered architect in the state of Florida. As an architect Daniel has experience with custom residential, sustainable design and small scale commercial projects.

Crystal Caudle
SR CAD Technician

Crystal contributes her digital drafting talent to CMSA by creating the technical drawings/blueprints used during construction. Crystal has amassed over 14 years of AutoCAD experience, mainly focused in commercial projects. Her keen eye for detail is a huge asset to the team.

Tyler Elwell
CAD/BIM Drafter

Tyler Elwell is a west coast native that recently relocated to Sarasota. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 2018 with his Bachelor of Architecture and spent time in Italy during his final year. For the 2 years following his graduation, Tyler worked for a design firm producing residential and hospitality projects in Scottsdale, Arizona. Tyler brings his passion for design, technology, nature, people, and sustainable architecture to the team.

Kim Jordan Sutton, ASID, NCIDQ
Interior Designer

Kim is an award-winning interior designer with over 30 years of professional experience on a wide variety of projects. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Florida State University and is NCIDQ certified. Kim is client-focused and detail-oriented. Her extensive Residential and Commercial background and knowledge of construction, detailing, and project logistics fit perfectly with the CMSA design service approach and are a valuable contribution to any team. Kim’s interiors are as unique as each individual client, responding directly to the client’s aesthetics and the surrounding architecture.

David S. Weissberg
Project Manager

David brings with him a wealth of architectural knowledge and experience, from conceptual designs to construction administration, and every stage in-between. He has had an extensive career as designer, coordinator, and project manager for over 25 years. He specializes in all facets of luxury residential construction from upscale single-family homes to hi-rise luxury condominiums. His main focus has always been on the clients’ needs. In addition to possessing the required integrity of craft, David demonstrates a strong concern for an appreciation of aesthetics. Frank Lloyd Wright said that “space is the breath of art” and David understands how space becomes the reality of the building. In addition to architecture, David’s passions include his family, dry-aged burgers, and Ducati motorcycles.

Amanda Carr
Office Manager

Amanda has over 20 years in office management experience.  She studied Art History and Architecture at University of West Georgia.  As the office manager of CMSA, she brings passion to this industry along with the determination to make sure that all avenues of the firm run smoothly.
