This residence in 2 dimensions was designed to embrace the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico. The in and out movement of the shoreline was replicated by the in and out front and rear façade of the 3 story home. The styling was an adaptation of the “Coral Gables” look of a very refined Spanish Colonial home. The solids and voids are very much in the Spanish venue and the detailing is very classically defined. The use of “Spanish” arches at the exterior kept the styling elegant but not rigid. The long driveway up to the impressive entry motor court clearly sets the residence back from the road and offers long views to the home. The view of the entire Point of Rocks shoreline is immense but focused and graceful.
