This residence in 2 dimensions was designed to embrace the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico. The in and out movement of the shoreline was replicated by the in and out front and rear façade of the 3 story home.
This modern home was completed in 2021 on the island of Boca Grande FL. The unique design of this home as an inland lot but with waterviews was to combine two properties one for the residence and one for the extensive gardens. The owners wanted a very clean and Vertical approach to the design.
Classic, timeless, and stately, the Acqua Vita or “water of life” is a spectacular culmination of form and function. Designed by architect Cliff Scholz and built by Perrone Construction in 2017, Aqua Vita is one of the most sought-after residences along the Longboat Key bay front. The architecture is Georgian based and European in nature creating an air of simple elegance. Special details in the millwork and columns set the tone. Originally built as a speculative home, Acqua Vita has since sold twice – initially setting a record for the highest price paid for a Longboat Key bay front property in 2017 and recently selling in 2021 for $9.1M.
The clients have been living on this property in the home they built approximately 35 years ago and were ready for a change. The former house, in it’s time was fabulous but now it had faded somewhat, was below base elevation and dated. The property is secluded with spectacular waterfront views and glorious sunsets. The design inspiration came from the extraordinary water views in all directions.
As in many of the CMSA residential designs there is a mix of desired styles. From and exterior of a historical nature to a cleaner and simpler interiors. This home does both. The coastal exterior style has a historical context but yet is lighter and simpler that a historical design would provide. The interior has a mature and rich feel with very traditional; details mixed with contemporary furniture and furnishings.
